About The Tao of John
Tao means the path or the way.
That sounds super philosophical, but for me, it’s just my journey towards a more authentic life.
My philosophy is simple – Life is about continuous growth.
Yet, growth without an accompanying authenticity becomes a never-ending quest for a happiness that lies outside of you.
For me, you are in control of Your Life and how fun and worthwhileness you feel you have, is your responsibility.
This is my journey towards trying to live a more authentic life full of personal growth, while trying to have more fun, happiness and to make it more worthwhile (aka, purposeful).
Hopefully, you can take some lessons from these stories.
2017 was an interesting year. I had more financial success than I had ever had, better relationships than I’ve ever had and my friends and family were all doing well, but a lot of that was undercast by the ridiculousness that was Trump’s Presidency.
2017 was also a time of personal growth and more acceptance. I started to dive into a ton of Broadway shows. Most musicals, were ultimately about one thing – accepting a more authentic version of yourself and because of that, growing.
So on New Year’s Day 2018, I decided to be more than simply someone that gives fitness advice. Fitness is definitely still a part of me, but life is so much more than working out. This is the story of a more authentic version of fitness and change.
The Tao of John
After being in the fitness industry for 15 years, I decided that I had more to say than simply fitness advice. Fitness advice is great. I believe it can be a great metaphor for life and change overall.
But life has always been more than simply fitness. Fitness should be a part of your life, not your whole life. I’ve never been one of those “super hardcore” trainers. This is the story of both the fitness, but also, the more important things of life.

That’s me flexing like a bad-ass. And by bad-ass, I mean a goofy ass smiling psuedo-flex, which is a lot more authentic.
I own Hoboken Fitness, a personal training studio in Hoboken, NJ and Fat Loss University, a 12-week online fat loss loss program designed to build up lifestyle habits that help you lose fat, and more importantly, keep it off for good.
